Hearing loss in children – Prof. Shak & team win Pioneering Intervention Award

Professor Saeed has spearheaded the NHS recognition and funding for auditory brainstem implants in London for children born with a rare cause of profound hearing loss. This culminated in NHS England approving this intervention for such infants and children in 2 national centres in the UK – London and Manchester. In recognition, Professor Saeed and his colleagues in the London programme won the Sun 2019 NHS Awards in the Ground-breaking Pioneers section.
